DevLog: 9th Week

Our prototype didn't go very well, we had a lot of setbacks and I had some deliveries for other courses that I didn't notice I had so it ended up not having the time it deserved to make it. We got some good feedback tho so there are some things we will probably change. We decided to begin working on the project more regularly now and try to have something done every 3 days so this doesn't happen again. Today or tomorrow I will be fixing some code that ended up being a bit unorganized due to the time restrictions. The art students showed us the backgrounds for the school-themed level of the game and it looked cool.

Coming up with puzzles is hard! Developing the prototype turned out to be harder than we thought. Even though we already had experience with Unity, the logic of our game itself takes too long to implement. It's not that it is hard, but it takes just too much time compared to what we planned. We underestimated the amount of time we need to put into this project. Moreover, it was hard to come up with more cohesive and concrete puzzles and scenes able to show what our game is meant to be in the end. I am now excited to program and see the game become more cohesive and complete, turning our ideas into reality. :)

This week we finished and tested our prototype, it has some issues but it manages to get the game's feel across, we got some valuable feedback from the prototype testing that will aid in the development of the final game. We also got some new assets from the art team, we still have to implement them but they look really good. Now we have to come up with more screens to make our game.

This week we worked on our first digital prototypes. Since the workload was heavy last week we didn't manage to have close to enough time to deliver the prototype we intended. Nevertheless, we managed to test some elements of the gameplay and learned a lot about what works and what still has to be improved. This week we can finally start working on our final game. We already met with the rest of the team so we plan the process in the following weeks. I wish we had more time but I'm hopeful we will deliver a solid project in time for MOJO.
